#BlackInEnto student research prize:

Thanks to our sponsors at BASF, Corteva, the Entomological Society of Canada, and the Entomological Society of America, our donors and other supporters, we are announcing the BlackInEnto week student prize!
We will be distributing 4 prizes of $1000 each. This prize will be available to Black scholars at the undergraduate, and graduate student career level who seek to apply for funds to further their research in entomology. Our mission is to provide these prizes to support paying for field supplies, travel to the field, experimental materials, conference/meeting fees, and publication fees related to entomological study. These 4 prizes will be awarded on a one time basis, and are non-renewable, but if we are successful in fundraising, further prizes may be awarded at future dates.
To apply, please email BlackInEnto@gmail.com with a 1 page (500 word maximum) proposal explaining the benefit to your career and/or research if awarded one of the student prizes, including, where appropriate, a discussion of the research that would be undertaken. Students may choose to include an optional equity statement (maximum 200 words) if they wish to share a challenge that they have overcome to pursue their research. Deadline to submit applications is March 15, 2021, and prizes will be announced April 15, 2021.
Thank you to our sponsors, and thank you for supporting and participating in #BlackInEnto week!
Sincerely, the #BlackInEnto organizers
